Retiro Park

Retiro Park (Parque del Retiro) is a large public park in Madrid, Spain. Originally built as a royal retreat in the 17th century, it was opened to the public in the 19th century and has since become a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The park covers an area of about 350 acres and features a variety of gardens, sculptures, monuments, and historical buildings.

One of the main attractions of the Retiro Park is the Crystal Palace (Palacio de Cristal), a glass and metal pavilion that was originally built as a greenhouse for exotic plants. Another popular feature is the artificial lake, which offers visitors the opportunity to rent rowboats and enjoy a relaxing ride on the water. Other notable features of the park include the Rose Garden, the Velazquez Palace, and the Monument to King Alfonso XII.

Retiro Park is also known for its street performers, artists, and vendors, who add to the lively and festive atmosphere of the park. It is a popular spot for picnics, jogging, and cycling, and is also home to a number of cultural events throughout the year, such as concerts, exhibitions, and festivals.
