The square is named “Quattro Canti,” which translates to “Four Corners,” due to its unique design featuring four nearly identical Baroque facades, each facing one of the cardinal directions. Each façade represents a specific corner of the square, and they are adorned with allegorical statues and ornate decorations corresponding to the seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Additionally, at the top of each building, there are statues representing different Spanish kings.
